Reflections on: When A Stranger Calls (1979)
- The wonderful Carol Kane plays a babysitter who is harassed over the phone until she learns “THE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE!” I got so excited when that line was said. So excited.
- All the horror in this movie happens in the first 20 minutes and it’s great! However, after 20 minutes it becomes about an obsessed detective hunting down a feeble, homeless mentally disturbed man. Not so great.
- The detective turned private investigator is played by Charles Durning, who also played the private investigator in Sisters (1973). He is great, but I always get him confused with Brian Dennehy. Sorry Charles Durning!
